The controlling mother, grandmother and matriarch of the Ryland family is making her triumphant return! That’s right ‘Dallas’ fans, the ever-so-talented Judith Light is returning for the third season of TNT’s successful reboot.
Yesterday, Light took to her Twitter to announce her comeback, “So happy 2 b back on #Dallas this 3rd fabulous season!! Great team all around ! So grateful 2 b a part of this wonderful family:)”
Last season, Light joined ‘Dallas’ in the recurring role of Judith Ryland, mother to Harris (Mitch Pileggi) and grandmother to Emma (Emma Bell). Last time we saw Judith Ryland, her own son shipped her off to a rehab facility. As fans of the classic soap opera know, Judith and Harris had quite the “loving” relationship. Let’s just say they’re mother-son bond was too close for comfort and at times even creepy. When Judith returns, I don’t think she’ll be welcoming Harris with open arms, and she’s more likely to create a revenge scheme.
Despite the unrealistic mother-son relationship (Light is only three years older than Pileggi), I can’t wait to see Light back in action. She’s a killer actress.
As you can see to the left (a photo recently tweeted by Bell), Light, Pileggi and Bell are already having a good time on the Season 3 set.
No word on whether Light has signed on as a guest-star, or if she's booked another recurring stint, but either way, I’m sure she’ll have no trouble making her mark as Judith Ryland.
‘Dallas’ is set to return in 2014.
