Here’s some depressing news for fans of FX’s ‘American Horror Story.’ Jessica Lange will be leaving the hit franchise after Season 4, the actress recently confirmed to BuzzFeed.
As she told the entertainment website, “I’ll do one more season.” She added, “That’ll be it.” So Lange will officially be done with series co-created by Ryan Murphy, who just a few weeks ago touched on Lange’s repeated declaration that she will depart the show.
Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter, “Every year, she says, "‘OK, that's my last one.’ But she's already committed to the fourth series. I can see ‘American Horror Story’ going 10 years, 12 years, 15 years. I think it's limitless because it re-energizes every year, and I would love for Jessica Lange to be part of it every year.”
Well, it looks like Lange is serious about exiting the show, which is sad for a series that has earned such an established fanbase, especially thanks to Lange and her roles. In addition to its fans, ‘AHS’ also earned Lange a 2012 Golden Globe. It’ll be a shame for the show to lose such a talented actress.
Currently in its third season titled ‘American Horror Story: Coven,’ Lange portrays witch Fiona Goode, a strong witch aka “the Supreme” with all kinds of powers. Will you be sad to see Lange exit ‘American Horror Story’? Be sure to sound off in the comments.
‘American Horror Story’ airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX.
