It looks like someone new is about to take a tumble down the ol' rabbit hole in the very near future. The Hollywood Reporter reports that 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland' is gearing up to add another character to its freshman season in the form of the lovely Peta Sergeant.
Though specific details behind the Australian actress's upcoming role remain pretty scarce, it has been revealed that Sergeant's character will be a "force of nature in Wonderland" on the ABC fairy-tale drama spin-off. She's even being billed as part of a recurring role, so from the sounds of everything, it won't be just a quick stop for some afternoon tea. This girl is sticking around. For good or for bad purposes? Well, that has yet to be decided.
For those of you unfamiliar with the storyline, 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland' hails from executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, and centers around a young and beautiful Alice (played by Sophie Lowe), in search of her long-lost love...who just so happens to be a very handsome genie. And this all takes place in Wonderland (though I feel that pretty much goes without saying).
Other notable charactes include the evil Jafar (Naveen Andrews), the psychedelic Caterpillar (Iggy Pop), and the constantly late White Rabbit (John Lithgow). Quite an A-list cast, indeed. As for her part, Sergeant has starred in both versions of The CW's 'The Selection' pilot and has been seen on 'Last Man Standing.'
Be sure to tune in to 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland' airing on Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC. And a very Merry Unbirthday to all of you!
