The God of Thunder franchise is about to drop the hammer down on ABC. The network's popular freshman superhero drama, 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,' has decided to take advantage of 'Thor: The Dark World's theatrical release by airing its very own crossover episode that will pick up right where the movie will leave off.
The episode, titled 'The Well,' is scheduled for a Nov. 19 release — just 11 days after 'Thor 2' hits theaters — and will address a couple of the issues the film will leave in its wake. So if you're unable to make it to 'Thor 2' by then and are fearful of spoilers, you may want to steer clear of the episode, at least until you're all caught up.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the official description of the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' episode is as follows: “In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s 'Thor: The Dark World,' Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces–one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.” Who they're referring to remains unclear, but it sounds like it could have a serious impact on the show itself.
But don't be expecting Chris Hemsworth or anyone else from the 'Thor 2' cast to be stopping by for a little chat. They're all completely off the small screen grid, at least for now. I know...we're all bummed about it too. (Not even another brief cameo of Samuel L. Jackson? Please?)
What do you think of this crossover idea? Will the film's affiliation with the show make you more or less likely to tune in? Sound off on your thoughts in the comments below!
