Anna Gunn to Guest-Star on 'The Mindy Project'

Anna Gunn To Guest Star on 'The Mindy Project'

Looks like 'The Mindy Project' has landed (yet) another big-name guest star. According to E! News, the next celeb to appear on the FOX sitcom is none other than Anna Gunn from 'Breaking Bad' fame.

Gunn will play Mindy Lahiri's (played by star Mindy Kaling) idol Sheila Hamilton, whom she refers to as "the Tory Burch of Manhattan OB/GYNs" (I guess that means she's kind of a big deal) when she shows up on the sitcom's 13th episode this season. And it appears the love will be mutual, as Sheila will attempt to steal Mindy away from her current position at Shulman & Associates. Apparently Sheila's a high-profile doctor who treats New York's rich and famous, and given that Mindy (Lahiri, that is) is obsessed with all things posh and pop culture-related, I'm also guessing that she'll seriously consider the offer.

Gunn recently won an Emmy for her role as Walter White's long-suffering wife Skylar on the AMC hit, and given that the drama just had its swan song over the summer, she's probably in high demand around town.

Kaling's obsession with 'Breaking Bad' is known amongst her fans. She's tweeted about her love for the show through its entire run, and recently she made it a point of contention between her and her recent on-screen boyfriend (Ben Feldman) in a recent episode of 'The Mindy Project.' Feldman played an Arts & Culture writer who wrote a negative review of the show. Needless to say, he and Mindy broke up.

'The Mindy Project' airs Tuesdays on FOX at 9:30/8:30c.
