FOX’s thriller drama ‘The Following’ is not afraid to pile on successful actors and actresses. This time around, Australian actress Jacinda Barrett is joining the series in a recurring role, TVLine recently reported.
Barrett joins Kevin Williamson’s hit series as Julia, who is said to be “a very disarming and alluring woman whose mysterious intentions send several main characters in a frightening new direction.”
Hmm...what does that mean? If we’ve learned anything from characters and storylines on ‘The Following,’ it’s that anything can happen, including the return of James Purefoy as serial killer Joe Carroll (who was presumed dead at the end of last season).
Barrett, known for her role on the short-lived series ‘Zero Hour’ and her work alongside real-life hubby Gabriel Macht on ‘Suits,’ joins the ranks of several other successful stars who will pop up during the second season of ‘The Following.’ From Leslie Bibb playing a suburban housewife to Carrie Preston portraying a Joe Carroll "groupie" to Keith Carradine as a friend of Kevin Bacon’s Ryan Hardy to Jessica Stroup as Ryan’s niece to Connie Nielsen joining as a potential love interest for Ryan, the second season of this bloody good series doesn’t look like it will disappoint.
What do you think about all of these exciting additions? ‘The Following’ returns, for an uninterrupted 15 weeks, Monday, Jan. 20 at 9/8c on FOX.
