This time, Vince Gilligan will be the one who knocks acts. According to Entertainment Weekly, the 'Breaking Bad' creator/executive producer is about to tackle the other side of the camera by guest starring in an upcoming episode of 'Community.'
So what can we expect from Gilligan's acting debut? Well, it seems his character will tend to be a little bit of a trouble maker, to say the least. Gilligan will play a smooth-talking meth dealer gold digger who winds up exacerbating a fight between Annie (Alison Brie) and Abed (Danny Pudi).
In other words, he is the drama danger! The episode, which is scheduled to begin filming sometime this week, will most likely air in late winter or early spring. Set your DVRs accordingly.
But Gilligan won't be the only 'Breaking Bad' star to stop by this NBC community college-set sitcom this season. Jonathan Banks, who played hitman Mike Ehrmantraut on 'Bad,' will play a criminology professor in 11 episodes of the show's fifth season. Banks' former co-star Giancarlo Esposito also popped up for a couple appearances in Seasons 3 and 4.
Like so many other sitcoms these days, 'Community' prides itself on its great ensemble of celebrity guest stars. Other famous faces fans can expect to see on the show in the near future include Walton Goggins, Nathan Fillion, Robert Patrick, Paget Brewster, Kumail Nanjiani, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, Katie Leclerc, Ben Folds and 'Arrested Development' creator Mitchell Hurwitz. All-in-all, it's gearing up to be a season you won't want to miss.
'Community' launches its fifth season on Thursday, Jan. 2 with back-to-back episodes starting at 8/7c on NBC. Do you plan on watching?
