Listen up, lords and ladies — another new character is making their way to Westeros! Just when you thought the 'Game of Thrones' cast couldn't get any bigger, Entertainment Weekly has just released the news that HBO has added yet another member to its Season 4 roster in the form of Styr, the Magnar of Thenn.
The role will be played by well-known Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov, who's also starred in hits such as 'Schastlivyy konets' and 'Obrechyonnye na voynu.' Okay...so when we say "well-known," we may not be referring to the States. He’s a longtime actor in his homeland, however, having appeared in more than a couple dozen features. Not to mention he's rather easy on the eyes.
As for some background into his character, Styr is the leader of the Thenn — one of the most warlike tribes from beyond the Wall. The end of Season 3 saw the tribes readying themselves to potentially invade Westeros under the leadership of Mance Rayder (Ciarán Hinds) while ex-Wildling Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was returned injured to Castle Black with news of their movements. So it seems Styr is arriving just in time as another epic 'Thrones' battle is about to get underway! (Where are those dragons when you need them?)
The action-packed, fantasy drama is set to make its grand return sometime next spring. Will you be tuning in?
