Known for his roles on ‘Vegas’ and ‘Terra Nova,’ Irishman Jason O’Mara has landed a leading role in the new USA drama pilot ‘Complications,’ according to The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Complications,’ written and produced by Matt Nix (‘Burn Notice’), revolves around “disillusioned” ER Dr. John Ellis (O’Mara) “whose life changes after he's involved in a gang shooting when he's forced to explore how active a doctor can be in treating the cause of his patients' medical problems.”
Talk about “complications,” but the problems don’t stop there. As THR reports, “Ellis intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy's life and killing one of his attackers. When he learns the boy is still marked for death, he finds himself compelled to save him at any cost and discovers that his life and his outlook on medicine may never be the same.”
As ‘Burn Notice’ fans known, Nix had quite the success with the USA drama starring Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar and Bruce Campbell, so let’s hope his new series does just as well. Furthermore, my fingers are crossed for O’Mara, who hasn’t had the best of luck on the small screen. From his short-lived series ‘Vegas’ and ‘Terra Nova’ to the non-succesful dramas ‘Life on Mars’ and ‘In Justice,’ the actor hasn’t had much luck in the TV World.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to see O’Mara back on the small screen in a leading role. To hold you over, don’t forget O’Mara can also be seen on this season of ‘The Good Wife’ in a recurring role.
