CBS Moves 'Intelligence' Premiere Date, Sets 'Hostages' Finale

Josh Holloway in Intelligence

Josh Holloway's supercomputer series is about to get a serious upgrade...on its premiere date, that is. CBS has decided to fast-track 'Intelligence' — which features the 'Lost' alum as an elite spy with a nanocomputer embedded in his oh-so-dreamy physique — and will debut the first episode in early January instead of late February. Let the rejoicing commence!

The series will kick off on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 9/8c, where it will lead out of a fresh episode of TV's most watched drama 'NCIS.' This should give the hour-long action thriller a very helpful boost in audience viewership right from the get-go — something many freshman shows would kill for. It will then slide into its regular time slot the following week on Monday, Jan. 13 at 10/9c.

'Intelligence,' which also stars Meghan Ory ('Once Upon a Time') and Marg Helgenberger ('CSI'), was originally scheduled to launch on Feb. 24, the day after NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage came to a close. But now this new plan will have the show airing a full five episodes before the Olympics even begin. As for whether CBS will opt to continue to air new episodes during the actual Games remains to be seen.

Of course, there's always one way to guarantee an increase in viewers: make Holloway shirtless for a few scenes. Or...you know...every scene. Maybe he could even chop wood like Sawyer? Just throwing it out there!

Additionally, CBS also announced that Monday’s current 10 o’clock drama, 'Hostages,' will conclude its 15-episode run on Monday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m., with a two-hour finale, right in time for 'Intelligence' to take its place the following week. We guess it's true what they say...when one door closes, another one opens.

Are you happy about this midseason schedule shake-up? Are you excited for Holloway's return to TV? Will you be sad to see 'Hostages' go? Sound off in the comments below and let us know your thoughts!

Kelly, a girl after my own heart... Josh Holloway chopping wood??? It really doesn't get much better than that, unless he's coming out of the ocean in slo mo. Cannot wait to see him again in something other than LOST.
