Monroe’s (Silas Weir Mitchell) family is coming to Portland! That’s right, ‘Grimm’ fans are finally going to meet Monroe’s Blutbad parents, TVLine exclusively reports.
Later this season, Dee Wallace, mostly recognized for playing the mom in ‘E.T. the Extraterrestrial,’ and Chris Mulkey, known for his TV roles in ‘Friday Night Lights,’ ‘Saving Grace’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ will join the NBC series as Alice and Bart.
Before the third season even started, it was made known by co-creator and executive producer David Greenwalt that Monroe’s parents would be stopping by. Not only are Alice and Bart unhappy with Monroe’s lifestyle (ahem, he’s friends with a Grimm!), but they aren’t too keen on his lady love, Rosalee. After all, she’s a Fuchsbau and he’s a Blutbad!
Just the other day Bree Turner, who plays Rosalee, revealed some further details to TVRage about her character’s encounter with her man’s parents, “[Monroe’s] parents are somewhat less than thrilled, and it causes some major problems in our relationship, and it’s kind of like fighting our way through that. That’s what this next chunk for us is going to be about.”
Turner also noted that Episode 11 and 12 offer a “big two episode arc” for Rosalee and Monroe. Not only will there be familial drama with Monroe’s parents, but we’ll also get a taste of Rosalee’s sister, mother and a deeper look into Rosalee’s past.
It sounds like we're getting more Rosalee and Monroe time, and I can't really complain about that! Are you excited to see the addition of Rosalee and Monroe’s family members?
‘Grimm’ airs Fridays at 9/8c on NBC.
