A massive war is looming. The fate of the entire human race may hang in the balance. In times like these, it's best to trust in men like Tim Robbins and Jack Black. At least according to HBO.
The former Andy Dufresne and Kung Fu Panda have been cast as two of the three leads in upcoming HBO comedy pilot 'The Brink.' Directed by 'Austin Powers' mastermind Jay Roach, 'The Brink' focuses on a high-level geopolitical crisis, and the effect that crisis has on three altogether different men.
The first is Walter Hollander (played by Robbins), current U.S. Secretary of State and a man with a low tolerance for the many war mongers he finds in Washington. The second is Alex Coppins (played by Black), a run of the mill Foreign Service Officer that gets reluctantly entangled in the worrying events unfolding on the ground. The third man is an expert Navy fighter pilot named Zeke Callahan. That last role has yet to be cast.
Described as an "epic dark comedy," 'The Brink' features these three men's desperate attempts to stop a catastrophic chain of events that seems to be leading toward World War III. Former 'Weeds' producer Roberto Benabib is penning the script, along with his brother Kim.
Can Tim Robbins and Jack Black bring the world back from 'The Brink'? Who do you think should be cast in the Zeke Callahan role?
