CBS’ hit drama ‘The Mentalist’ is promoting yet another star before their big debut. TVLine exclusively reports that Emily Swallow (‘Monday Mornings’) is now an official series regular on the series starring Simon Baker and Robin Tunney.
Back in September, it was revealed that Swallow joined the cast as Kim Fischer, “an enigmatic woman who is going to have a profound influence on Jane’s life.” Originally, she was set to appear in three episodes with potential to become a series regular. Well, we now know she'll be full-time. As ‘Mentalist’ fans know, Swallow has yet to even appear in an episode. Her first episode airs in two weeks (Dec. 1) aka the “post-Red John” epsiode.
Like Swallow, Rockmond Dunbar (‘Prison Break,’ ‘Sons of Anarchy’) was bumped to series regular before his character, FBI Supervisory Agent Dennis Abbott, even popped up on the procedural. Dunbar makes his debut on this Sunday’s episode, and after screening the episode I can tell you he’s one tough cookie.
Are you excited to see new characters join the series? Do you think they can fill the shoes of Grace (Amanda Righetti) and Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), once they exit the show? How do you think Swallow’s character will influence Jane? Let us hear your thoughts!
‘The Mentalist’ airs Sundays at 10/9c on CBS.
