What if the one who knocks, never really knocked at all? It's been nearly two months since AMC's 'Breaking Bad' took its final bow, but fans are still grasping to keep the meth-making drama a part of their lives in any way possible. And we do mean any way possible.
But thanks to a recently revealed DVD extra from the 'Breaking Bad: The Complete Series' DVD box set (scheduled to come out Nov. 26), we have a chance to picture a very different kind of fate for Bryan Cranston’s science-savvy antihero, Walter White. Intrigued?
Heavily borrowing from the iconic ending of 'Newhart,' the alternate ending imagines that the entire narrative of the show was nothing more than a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad nightmare experienced by Cranston's other, more comical TV character, Hal from the series 'Malcolm in the Middle.' It's like what Nelly's been singing about all this time — it was only just a dreammmm!
Chock-full of inside jokes along with the appearance of a certain special guest, hardcore 'Bad' enthusiasts will definitely appreciate how it all unfolds, especially the ending. (Hats off to the writers on that one!) Warning: you may also develop a serious craving for some deep fried Twinkies.
Check out the clip below and discover how it all really played out...or so we think. (Also: can we please get this show back on the air ASAP?)
UPDATE: Sony has since blocked this on YouTube.
