‘Dallas’ fans gather ‘round, because we have some great news for the upcoming season of the hit soap opera. TVGuide just announced that the reboot will be returning for its third season in February 2014.
The first episode of Season 3 will air Monday, Feb. 24 at 9/8c, so be sure to mark your calendars! ‘Dallas’ will return with eight episodes for its winter run, and then the series, starring Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray (note: this is the first season without legend Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing), will return in the summer for seven more episodes.
As showrunner Cynthia Cidre tells TVGuide, "We will have two season openers and two cliffhangers. We have tried this season to make the show more about Ewing family conflicts -- secrets, lies and betrayals. And I think we have succeeded."
Executive producer Michael Robin also notes, "This is a very sexy season with a roll in the hay and several hook-ups in a hotel. And we have lots of big events: Ewing barbecues and the biggest Southfork wedding yet!"
This definitely sounds like a grand season. After all, it’s already been announced that the series is bringing back Judith Light as the controlling Judith Ryland, in addition to ‘90210’s AnnaLynne McCord as a potential love interest for Metcalfe’s Christopher Ewing. If that's not enough casting news, Juan Pablo Di Pace will also recur in a “sexy” new role.
