She spent a decade as Kevin James' sitcom queen (that poor woman). She just finished 'Dancing with the Stars' every Monday night. And according to Deadline, she'll soon be joining the already stacked cast of TV Land sitcom 'The Exes.' That's right, I'm talking about Stacey Carosi herself, Leah Remini.
Leah will portray Nicki, sister to David Alan Basche's Stuart Gardner character. Nicki is described as "a tough-talking, no-nonsense, stylish and sexy woman from Staten Island," so the role was obviously written for Remini. Nicki's life is turned upside down when she finds that her cop husband of 17 years has been having an affair. She heads to Manhattan to seek comfort in her brother's arms, only to be surprised to learn that he's now sharing an apartment with the two other male leads of the show, Phil Chase (Donald Faison) and Haskell Lutz (Wayne Knight), and living across the hall from his divorce attorney (Kristen Johnston). Needless to say, Nicki doesn't adjust to this new reality well.
It is currently unclear just how many episodes Remini's character will appear in, but her role is confirmed to be a multiple episode arc. This will mark the former Carrie Heffernan's first venture into multi-camera comedy since 'The King of Queens' ended back in 2007. 'The Exes' returns for the second half of its third season on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
