'Orphan Black': Season 2 Trailer and Premiere Date Released
BBC America has had a big day today. First, they got to take part in the highly anticipated simulcast of the 'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary special. Second, they chose to drop an unexpected bomb on the audience, in the form of a surprise trailer for season three of the mega popular Benedict Cumberbatch - Martin Freeman drama 'Sherlock.'
Evidently not feeling that they had blown enough minds today, the network has also released a new teaser trailer for the second season of another hit sci-fi program, 'Orphan Black.' The series stars Tatiana Maslany as ... lots and lots of people. Her default identity at the beginning of the first episode was small time crook Sarah Manning, who soon came to discover that she was one of dozens of clones, all born in 1984 via in vitro fertilisation procedures. The clones are tracked by members of a shadowy government organization, and are in constant danger.
The multi-role nature of her work on the series has given star Maslany an opportunity to stretch her talents in all kinds of different directions, to the point where many critics consider her lack of an Emmy nomination to be a huge oversight by the television academy. So, without any further ado, here's the (criminally short) first trailer for Season 2:
