‘Low Winter Sun’ Actress and ‘Scandal’ Actor Book Roles on ‘The Following’

‘The Following’ is expanding its cast, yet again. According to TheWrap, ‘Low Winter Sun’s Sprague Grayden will appear in a recurring role on the FOX series ‘The Following.’

Who will Grayden play? During the drama’s second season, she’ll portray Carrie Cooke, a former tabloid reporter who is now making a name for herself as a best-selling author. She also wrote a book about serial murderer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) and the events at Havenport aka where Roderick (Warren Kole) worked. Despite all of the bloody events, Carrie continues her investigation and writings about the killings. Let’s just say, Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) doesn’t take to Carrie’s work kindly.

So far, it hasn’t been revealed when Grayden will debut and how many episodes she’ll star in -- probably due to the fact that everyone and anyone dies. Also, ‘Low Winter Sun’ has yet to be renewed for a second season, where Grayden plays Maya Callis.

Grayden isn’t the only star to join the series, as Gregg Henry (‘The Killing,’ ‘Scandal’) will guest-star in an episode as Dr. Strauss, who is described as “a distinguished doctor who may have a dark secret.”

We can also expect Jacinda Barrett, Carrie Preston, Keith Carradine, Connie Nielsen, Jessica Stroup, Tiffany Boone and Leslie Bibb to pop up next year during ‘The Following’s second season. The series has also earned a two-night premiere event on Sunday, Jan. 19 and Monday, Jan. 20.
