The holiday season just got a little bit brighter. FOX announced earlier today that former 'OC' star Adam Brody will be making a special guest appearance on 'New Girl' in the very near future. It's a Chrismukkah miracle, everyone!
The actor — best known for his role as the adorably nerdy Seth Cohen on 'The OC' — will play Berkeley (Sandy's alma mater!), a long-ago ex-boyfriend of Jess, who’s now a married "hip, stay-at-home dad." Please let this mean we'll get to see him holding a baby.
He’s described as being very open with his feelings and prides himself on having mastered the art of being an ex, which explains how he and Jess have remained friends after all these years. Though we're sure Nick may have a few things to say about all this.
The episode is slated to start shooting next week and air in early 2014, though no official date has been set.
And who knows, if all goes well maybe Brody's position could become permanent. After all, the network recently upped Damon Wayans Jr.'s guest spot to a season-long commitment, soon after he returned to reprise his pilot-episode role as Coach. Schmidt probaby has room over at that big, empty apartment of his. Just sayin!
So what do you think, readers? Are you excited to see Brody return to his old FOX stomping grounds? Should Jess and the gang introduce him to 'True American'? Sound off on your thoughts below!
'New Girl' airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on FOX.
