Paul Walker Dies in Tragic Car Accident

paul walker, dead

This is sad news. Actor Paul Walker died Saturday afternoon in a single-car accident. He was 40 years old.

TMZ was first to report the news that the car carrying Walker apparently slammed into a tree and burst into flames. It was reported that the accident occured in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles. Within minutes of TMZ's breaking news, Twitter went into overtime, with many questioning the validity of the story. However, per TVLine, the tragic news was confirmed on the actor’s official Facebook page:

"It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. – #TeamPW"

Though Walker is best known for his turn in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise, he got his start on television with guest appearances on 'The Young & The Restless,' 'Who's the Boss?' and 'Touched By An Angel.' On a personal note, I will forever remember him -- and his winning smile -- from such '90s classic films as 'She's All That' and 'Varsity Blues.'

Walker's latst film, the Hurricane Katrina drama, 'Hours,' is due out Dec. 13.

I can't clame to know him or to being a friend, but I di meet him once and he was friendly and came accross as a nice guy. He died on the way to a charity event that was being held by HIS charity that help people that he never got to see, was never thanked by the people that where hepled nad never asked for there thanks in the first place. He wasn't looking for a pat on his back for doing good, just a way to give back to those that needed help.

These are just 2 of the reasons that Paul will be missed.

If you don't have something nice to say, just don't say anything at all.

I don't get why some people think the dead deserve extra respect. I'm not saying that being mean is ok but honestly, if he were still alive nobody would be praising him. He was not a crowd pulling actor or a world saviour. No body on this site knew him personally. So what is wrong if people speak the way they feel? I'm sure Paul's family are not reading these posts. I never met the man but saw a few of his films. I'm sad for his family but I'm not going to give him false praise. I won't cry that he is not going to bore me will more dull movies.

A young man (or rather two) lost their lives. This is the first time I've ever felt dirty reading a TVRage article (at the comments, not the article). Really; pretty low.

"He was the main actor in many A list movies", like what? Just not seeing anything "A" list at IMDB. Unless you consider the FF franchise "A" list. Then you have some serious misunderstanding of quality film. It's like claiming Deisel is a great Shakespearean actor.

Paul Walker has been in the entertainment business since he was 9 years old and has been a Background Actor, Cast Member, Guest Star and Leading Actor as well as being a behind the camera crew member and Producer. He spent 31 years bringing a little happiness to millions and he gave back to the world too.

So Paul, you will be missed by many for just those reason but you will be missed much more by you family and friends who don't give a dame if you where famous or not. To them I say he will be missed for just being Paul. Gone too soon.

He was not driving, so he was not re-enacting scenes from FF films... The car did not burst into flames, it was engulfed in flames due to a leak from gas line... He was not a B Lister, He was the main actor in many A list movies also this is an entertainment website so this is headline news and it was even headline news on CNN, so get over yourself...

RIP Pauly... It was an honor to have known you!
