'Girls' Season 3 Poster Revealed

The anticipated third season premiere of HBO's 'Girls' is still a month away, but from the looks of its official poster that was just released, I'm pretty certain we're gonna be in for some kind of party. Well, an angsty party, of course. I'm not entirely sure these girls know how to let themselves entirely loose.

girls, hbo, castThe poster shows Hannah Horvarth (Lena Dunham) and her friends adorned in fancy duds, recovering from an all-out celebration. Although, only Marnie (Allison Williams) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) look like they're actually enjoying themselves. Maybe that's some visual foreshadowing?

The befitting tagline reads: "Happily Whatever After." How very melancholic Millennial of them. Although it is a step in the right direction from last season's tagline, "almost getting it kind of together." Maybe it's finally upwards and onwards for Hannah and her friends.

Last season's finale proved that the girls were getting it together, albeit "kind of," with its rom-com feel as Hannah was literally swept up by Adam (Adam Driver) and Marnie was "rescued" by her ex-boyfriend Charlie (Christopher Abbott). But then again, they were finding solace in the arms of a man rather than solving their own problems...

From the looks of Season 3's trailer, Marnie is toughing it out alone this time around (Abbott left the series after "creative differences") though. Hannah and Adam are back together, but still bickering. Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is doing a lot of heavy grimacing, and Shoshanna is, well, still Shoshanna.

I guess we'll have to see for ourselves if the girls get their "happily whatever after" when the series debuts on Jan. 12.

'Girls' airs Sundays on HBO at 10/9c.

Has to be the worst thing I have ever seen. Someone has tapped into NSA files and to blackmail this horror into remaining on the air.
