‘SGU’ Actress Elyse Levesque Books Bewitching ‘Originals’ Role

The Mikaelson family better watch their backs, because a new witch is coming to New Orleans. ‘SGU Stargate Universe’s Elyse Levesque has just booked a bewitching part on The CW’s new hit series ‘The Originals,’ TVLine exclusively reports.

Levesque joins The Big Easy-based show as Genevieve, a redheaded witch who is described as “seductive” and “deceptive.” Like most of the characters on ‘The Originals,’ Genevieve returns to New Orleans with a “mysterious agenda and some unfinished business.”

Just who is Genevieve going after? None other than Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). These two just can’t stop stirring up trouble -- and I quite like it.

Since she’s a witch, does her presence have something to do with the other witches in town, like Sophie (Danielle Pineda) and Davina (Danielle Campbell)? Or, is she returning regarding the secret ex-lovers Rebekah and Marcel discussed in last night’s fall finale? You know this one: an incident that occurred in 1919 that would make Klaus hate Marcel. Hmmm...just what does that mean?

Yep, it sounds like Genevieve will fit in just fine with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), Marcel, Rebekah and the other supernatural beings roaming the bloodthirsty town. Expect Levesque to pop up in Episode 13.

‘The Originals’ returns Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 8/7c on The CW.
