As if this show wasn't already filled with supernatural superstars, 'American Horror Story: Coven' is gearing up to add yet another scintillating character (emphasis on the word "sin") to its magical ranks.
Are you ready for this? Entertainment Weekly reports that former 'Fringe' star Lance Reddick has landed a devilish multi-episode arc on the FX series, where he's expected to raise some serious hell...and we do mean that quite literally.
The actor will play the role of Papa Legba, 'Coven‘s own unique version of a “voodoo Satan,” who serves as a pivotal figure in the life of Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett). Creator Ryan Murphy hinted about Legba in the site's recent 'AHS' cover story, saying: “You find out that’s how come Marie Laveau looks so good — because she sold her soul!”
Suffice to say, this is a man who is not to be messed with. And if he's even more powerful than Laveau, there's no telling what kinds of hair-raising horror await our dear witches throughout the remainder of the season. Prepare yourself, New Orleans!
Reddick is slated to make his hellish debut sometime in January. Let's hope Misty Day has more of that special mud on hand. Something tells us they're all going to be needing it.
A brand new episode of 'American Horror Story: Coven' airs tonight at 10/9c on FX. But if you don't want to wait that long, feel free to read up on all of our juicy spoilers of "The Sacred Taking" in the meantime.
