Jimmy Fallon is a popular comedian and a media personality, so when he is accused of gender discrimination it naturally becomes big news. A former employee has accused Jimmy of gender discrimination; he has in fact sued not only Jimmy Fallon but also NBC Universal in this matter. The former employee has taken this step sighting wrongful termination, based on his gender. The name of this ex-employee is Paul Tarascio and he was allegedly let go from the Jimmy’s show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in the beginning of 2010. He further alleges that, he was instead replaced by an “incompetent” and “less qualified woman”. It would be interesting to see, if the woman he has called incompetent and less qualified, ends up suing Paul Tarascio for defamation.
He has further added that, Jimmy Fallon prefers female employees on his staff rather than men, and has hence fired other male employees in the past. It is interesting to note once again that, if Jimmy Fallon really prefers women on his staff why did he hire the men in the first place. It surely can’t be that, Jimmy hates men so much that he hires them just so he can later fire them, and replace them with women. It would hence possibly be safe to assume that, Mr. Paul Tarascio may have been fired for reasons which do not relate to gender discrimination. Jimmy has been hosting Late Night with Jimmy Fallon since 2009, and has over the years interviewed many a popular celebrities on his talk show.
The show too, it has to be said, is a fairly popular one and Jimmy adds his own brand of humor to it. The show which is telecast on NBC has seen everyone from Robert Pattinson to Adam Sandlar. Meanwhile, neither NBC nor Fallon has spoken yet, about the gender discrimination lawsuit filed against them.
