FOX Cuts 'Dads' Season Order to 19 Episodes

Anyone else a little worried that this is starting to become a pattern? Less than 24 hours ago, ABC revealed it would be trimming four episodes from 'Scandal's third season, and now FOX has evidently decided to piggyback off that very same idea in regards to its freshman sitcom 'Dads.'

According to TVLine, the network — which had previously picked up the comedy for a full 22-episode season earlier this fall — has now opted to reduce the order to a mere 19. Why? Sources claim that it's a simply case of overbooking on FOX's part.

It makes sense, really, especially when you consider the network's rather jam-packed midseason schedule, which includes the launch of several new comedies, such as 'Enlisted' and 'Surviving Jack.' It seems to be the only explanation that fits, right? (We highly doubt pregnancy is the cause of this know...given that the show is pretty much centered around a bunch of dudes.)

Regardless, we're now getting less of both 'Scandal' AND 'Dads.' What's next?! We'd be lying if we said all of this wasn't starting to make us a little paranoid. Could other beloved shows fall under the episode chopping block? Sound off on your thoughts and/or fears in the comments below!

'Dads' airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on FOX.

- Dads (2013)
- Seth Green

Whether you think the show is funny or not, you should respect the backhand that they hit critics with a couple weeks ago.

The jokes are simple. They're supposed to be. Comedy like this is a lot like going to a comedy club and seeing a solid (not brilliant) comic who is too edgy for their own good, they mock EVERYTHING and sometimes it comes off as easy. The show reminds me of the old nickelodeon style shows from the 90s, like 'Hey Dude' and 'Salute Your Shorts'. If you come into it with the right attitude there is a reason to laugh, or think, every couple minutes.

Its going to be cancelled. It also should never have been a 'stage show.' This should have been a single camera comedy, like Modern Family.

I'd assume its been cut because its fairly dire and advertisers are picking up that its not a big hit ratings wise,i'd go as far as to say i'd be surprised to see it renewed come may.

Is Dads really beloved though? I mean, I love everyone involved with the show, and I keep watching it because of that, but I really don't find it that funny...
