Ray Stevenson has donned many an acting hat in his career; some have been liked while others have been panned. But there is one thing that is difficult to do, is ignore this man’s towering onscreen presence in every frame that he is in. His Irish good looks and his tough guy image have been in recent times, seen in movies like the Three Musketeers and Thor. He also proved that he is a more than competent actor, when he played the character of Danny Greene a real life Irish thug and gangster, in the movie ‘Kill the Irishman”.
So the news that, Ray Stevenson is slated to join the cast of Dexter in the 7th season of the show is something that, would not only make his fans happy, but would surely make the fans of Dexter happy too. The only one who might worry a bit is actor Michael C Hall, who has the risk of his thunder being stolen by Stevenson. Dexter is slated for a 7th season, and with good reason. It’s one of Showtime’s most popular shows, and the network wants to possibly up the ante by bringing in a fairly popular face like Stevenson’s into the show, to further enhance its popularity. On the show, Stevenson would be playing the leader of a Russian crime syndicate, and given his appearance and his persona he might pull it off rather convincingly. It would be interesting to see how things turn out when; a blood thirsty serial killer like Dexter faces off with an organized crime boss.
Meanwhile, on the movie front, Stevenson has a few big projects lined up, like the new G.I. Joe movie and Thor 2. Meanwhile, it is also being said that the seventh season of Dexter might be the penultimate one, although the show might stick around and regale its viewers for longer than it’s being expected to, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Stevenson has something to do with it.
