'Sons of Anarchy' Creator Developing Follow-Up Series for FX

Katey Sagal and Kurt Sutter

'Sons of Anarchy' fans will be pleased to learn that the show's executive producer Kurt Sutter has a brand new project already in the works. And while the storyline is nothing like 'SOA,' it promises to contain just as much (if not more) violence.

According to DeadlineFX has greenlit a pilot for Sutter's period drama, 'The Bastard Executioner,' which tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward III’s charge who vows to lay down his sword and retire from the horrible ravages of war. Unfortunately, that's a lot easier said than done and a ton of bloodshed ensues. (Though you probably picked up on that just from the title.)

For his part, Sutter is absolutely thrilled to be joining FX again in this upcoming project, where he will be teaming up with producer Brian Grazer. The two plan to start work on the pilot soon after 'Sons' wraps its seventh and final season. “I love the network. I love the world. I love the blood,” Sutter told the site.

And the network itself seems equally pleased with the partnership. "[Sutter] has conceived a deep, provocative and historically precise narrative journey into our medieval past," FX Networks CEO John Landgraf said in a statement. "I have no doubt 'Bastard Executioner' will be another remarkably original and gripping series."

Will Sutter appear in another series filled with degradation and rape for his much suffering character? Otto was one of the best roles in SOA. He represented the fall of the club.

Oddly enough i dont think this season of SoA has been as good as certainly those first 4 seasons,of course a lot of "shock" storylines in it as there always is but i get the feeling its reaching its natural end and thankfully Sutter realises this,i too cant wait for this new show if it takes hold and of course the origin story of the Motercycle club we all love.

Lets face it this season of SoA has been nothing other than spectacular and in my opinion getting close to the breaking bad heights. Kurt Sutter's cocky, say it how it is, attitude just works and his work just keep on getting better. I'll be keeping a close eye on this new show and am excited to see how it turns out!
