The surprisingly prolific actor and a man with a recognizable, if not world-weary, face will be making a key appearance come sweeps time on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles.’
Danny Trejo, the 69-year-old ubiquitous Hispanic actor, will appear on the CBS drama in February during an episode that takes the crew down south to Mexico, as TV Line first reported.
While taking turns on the big screen, having recently starred in the grindhouse cult film (and less-than-well received) ‘Machete Kills,’ Trejo has made rounds on television as well over the years, with guest stops on ‘Modern Family,’ ‘Franklin & Bash,’ and ‘Breaking Bad,’ among others. Trejo has also appeared somewhat regularly on ‘Sons of Anarchy’ on FX.
Whether playing a serious role, one that usually involves illicit behavior, or simply goofing on that same character as he has also often done, Trejo is a reliable actor with a potent screen presence. The NCIS crew of Sam, Callen, and Hetty are said to all have particularly ties to the role Trejo will portray, as the episode involves both action and character development, according to showrunner Shane Brennan.
While that story is still a few months away, the forthcoming episode (the last one before the winter break), will feature guest star Michelle Trachtenberg in a holiday episode filled with intrigue and action – though probably no snow.
‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on CBS.
