'Once Upon a Time's New Wicked Villain Is Finally Revealed
[WARNING: If you have not yet seen 'Once Upon a Time's midseason finale DO NOT read any further. Major spoilers ahead!]
First of all — WHOA! Now that's a way to kick off a winter hiatus. Not only was the fate of Rumple — along with all our other fairytale favorites — left up in the air, but we were also introduced to the prospect of a brand new baddie, which happens to be none other than 'The Wizard of Oz's very own Wicked Witch of the West (aka Elphaba)!
A few weeks back, it was confirmed that 'Lost' alum Rebecca Mader would be taking on an iconic villainess role, but no particular identity was given. And now that it has, we couldn't be more excited! However, some fans may find the news a little disappointing considering that many were hoping the chosen nemesis would be Cruella De Vil (which, granted, would've also been pretty amazing).
Either way, though, it will be interesting to see where the storyline goes from here — not to mention what other Oz-ian characters could be stopping by along the way!
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until March 9 (that's a full 12 weeks away!) before the ABC fairytale show returns. But thankfully the network was kind enough to release a small teaser of what's to come during the second half of the season, which also includes a brief glimpse of Mader in all her wickedly green glory...
Since then, Mader has tweeteda first official photo of her in full character:
