HBO Releases First Look at 'Game of Thrones' Season 4

Peter Dinklage in Game of Thrones

Winter is coming...which means Season 4 of 'Games of Thrones' isn't too far behind. Though fans still have a long, cold road ahead before the series' springtime premiere, HBO has been kind enough to bestow a short teaser video on its dedicated viewers.

Now, granted, most of the footage provided is simply a look back on the network's 2013 season, however, there are brief glimpses of the 'GoT' upcoming season, along with a few shots of 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Veep,' 'True Blood,' 'Girls,' and many more thrown in as well.

So yes, in total, it amounts to roughly eight seconds of new 'Thrones' goodness, but it's still surprisingly enough to further pique our interest of what's to come of our most beloved (and hated) characters of Westeros. Like for starters — why is Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) in cuffs?!

But this is just the tip of the White Walkers iceberg.

"We have another royal wedding, this one is not red; this one is a different color," author George R.R. Martin has previously revealed to E! News of the upcoming season. "We have the introduction of some great new characters. We finally introduce one of the most popular characters from the books: Prince Oberon Martell. The Red Viper of Dorne will be introduced for the first time and there will be some other new characters that I think the fans will like."

Another wedding??? One can only imagine how this one will end. *shivers*

The clip also gives fans a sneak peek at the network's new freshman series, including 'Looking,' which stars Jonathan Groff; Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson's show 'True Detective'; and Damon Lindelof's 'The Leftovers,' which stars Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler, and Amy Brenneman.

Check out the video below ('GoT' shows up around the 1:37 mark) and get pumped for the 2014 television season!

It depends on the escape rate of wieners from the grocery store

Depends on the wieners point of view.
