Prepare yourselves 'New Girl' fans because another Day is coming to town. TVLine reports that FOX has tapped Linda Cardellini to join the Season 3 cast in the recurring role of Abby Day, Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) wild-child sister.
No news has been released yet regarding Cardellini's plot, however, we DO know she'll be making her debut sometime in February. Last season introduced us to Jess' estranged parents (geniusly played by the ever-so talented Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner), so it will be interesting to see how this new Day measures up in comparison.
Will one of the guys develop a crush on her? (Let's not forget how Nick fell pretty hard for Jess' mom at one point!) Will Cece feel threatened that another girl is taking up so much of Jess' time? Who knows! But when it comes to this gang, the sky's the limit and hilarity will inevitably ensue.
Cardellini's other TV credits include 'Freaks and Geeks,' 'ER,' and a recent stint on 'Mad Men' where she played Don's lover, Sylvia Rosen (see above). However, she isn't the only guest star that will be stopping by come 2014.
Last month it was revealed that Adam Brody will be making a special appearance as Jess' ex-boyfriend and just last week E! News confirmed that the music legend Prince will be dropping by as himself to cause problems between Nick and Jess. In other words, it's going to be a good year.
'New Girl' resumes its third season on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 9/8c on FOX.
