Look out Port Charles — Dr. Miranda Bailey is coming your way! Soaps In Depth has learned that longtime 'Grey's Anatomy' doc Chandra Wilson is preparing to check herself into the popular daytime soap opera drama 'General Hospital' — not as a fellow doctor, but rather an actual patient.
For her part, Wilson is a huge admirer of the show and couldn't be more thrilled about making her 'GH' debut. "I've watched 'GH' for 35 years," the actress reveals to the site. "I grew up with it. It holds such a place in my heart."
And apparently this guest spot has been a long time coming for Wilson. "I've been talking about this for years!" she confesses. "Roger [Howarth, who plays Franco] was visiting the 'Grey's' set and we talked about it. Then, the following Friday, I got the call."
Wilson is scheduled to appear in the Jan. 28 episode and will play a character who is described as being very Bailey-like and is a patient of Kevin’s. Suffice to say, it should be interesting to see how this ABC vet will take to being on the other end of a stethoscope. But knowing Wilson, it should make for some pretty interesting television.
'General Hospital' airs weekdays at 2/1c on ABC.
