-Adam Goldberg has booked a role on Jim Gaffigan’s upcoming CBS comedy pilot, Deadline exclusively reports. Based on Gaffigan’s life (where he’ll play Jim), Goldberg joins the pilot as Jim’s best friend Dave Reedy, who is described as “a die-hard New Yorker and stand-up comic who lives next door and is always at hand to give Jim the benefit of his neurotic counsel.”

-After 56 years since ‘I Love Lucy’ wrapped its original run, legends Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz recently hit it out of the park with their ‘I Love Lucy Christmas Special,’ which aired this past Friday. The holiday special nabbed nearly 8.7 million viewers and captured the No. 1 spot on Friday night.

-ABC Family’s ’Melissa & Joey’ is welcoming Mo Gaffney for its 26th episode set to air on March 26, 2014, The Hollywood Reporter reports. She’ll play Vice Principal Lucinda Dowell and meets Mel and Joe as chaperones at a high school dance.

-According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'The Office’s executive producer Ben Silverman is bringing ‘Loteria,’ a telenovela, to NBC. Per THR, it will focus on a "Mexican-American mogul who is killed in a suspicious car crash and has cut his kids out of his will. The question at the center of the potential series is whether the car crash was an accident or a plot by one of them to kill him."

Gaffigan shows always bomb. Kind of funny but in the end lacking oomph. Goldberg can be interesting, and what he creates as writer/producer is usually very well done.
