‘Gracepoint,’ FOX’s remake of ‘Broadchurch,’ keeps adding and adding to its cast. This time around, veteran actor Nick Nolte is coming to the 13-episode drama series.
The three-time Oscar nominee is joining the show as a series regular. Nolte is set to portray Jack Reinhold, who is described as “a stubborn, unmarried, willful man who has lived in Gracepoint for 20 years. He runs the kayak rental on the beach as well as the local wildlife observation program, where the murdered boy was one of his volunteers.”
This isn’t the first time Nolte has popped up on the small screen, as he played Walter Smith on the short-lived HBO series ‘Luck.’ He’s mostly known for his roles on the big screen, including films like ‘The Prince of Tides,’ ‘Warrior,’ and ‘Affliction’ (he snagged an Academy Award nom for all three). Nolte’s also been spotted in ‘Cape Fear’ and ‘The Thin Red Line,’ to name a few.
Nolte joins an already impressive cast, which includes ‘Doctor Who’s David Tennant (who headlined ‘Broadchurch’), ‘Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn, Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver, ‘Gossip Girl’s Kevin Zegers, and ‘End of Watch’ actor Michael Peña, who was most recently added to the series.
‘Gracepoint’ is set to begin production in January on Vancouver Island in Victoria, Canada, with broadcast set for the 2014-2015 season.
