New 'Walking Dead' Poster Places Carl Front and Center

Chandler Riggs and Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead

Move over, Rick Grimes — your son is about to dominate the spotlight. Or, at least, that's what AMC wants you to think. The network has just released a brand new official key art poster for the second half of 'The Walking Dead’s fourth season (which is returning Sunday, Feb. 9), and places Chandler Riggs’ young warrior, Carl Grimes, front and center for the very first time.

Outsiders won't find this change-up very interesting, but dedicated fans of the show may take this to mean a shift in leadership between father and son. Will Rick (Andrew Lincoln) be playing second fiddle the rest of the season? We'll just have to wait and see, but Carl certainly looks ready for whatever dangers lie ahead. (And knowing this show, there's bound to be plenty of them.)

And while no other characters are shown alongside this dynamic duo, a tagline hangs above them with the warning: "Don't Look Back." Now, in most cases this would seem like smart advice, but not so much in a zombie apocalypse-type situation. When dealing with undead corpses, you should ALWAYS be looking back! How else would you know when to run, amirite?

Check out the full poster below and be sure to tune in when 'The Walking Dead' returns from its winter hiatus on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9/8c on AMC.

If you go by the first picture her then it looks like young Carl might have a leading role in the upcoming episodes.  But when you look at the full poster it is clear that Rick is leading him away and telling him DON'T LOOK BACK and that Carl is just following. I like Carl and would like to see more of him as he is now old enough to have real responsabliitys within the group, when they get back together again.  I would also like to see Carol come back and have her and Darel become even closer and even possibly become a couple.

Oh, by the way, just incase a studio exec reads these, I HATE MID SEASON BREAKS!!!

Um yeah. If you followed the comic you would understand why this is in the plot cycle. Kelly. That pic reminds me of those coke squirrels. Must be a goer eh.
