Hailing from 'Battlestar Galactica' creator Ronald D. Moore, 'Helix' is one of the most hyped up dramas in recent Syfy history. Although really, why wouldn't it be? 'BSG' remains the most iconic series in network history, and Syfy executives are obviously hoping lightning will strike twice. To that end, they have now made the first 15 minutes of 'Helix's pilot episode available online, about a week in advance of the series' TV premiere.
'Helix' follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as they set out on their latest assignment. It seems that there may have been a viral outbreak at a remote, highly secretive Artic research facility, and the CDC has sent their best men and women to diagnose and contain the problem. Unfortunately, this virus is like nothing any of them have seen before, and may be the key factor in whether humanity remains the dominant species on this planet.
'The 4400's Billy Campbell, 'Lost's Hiroyuki Sanada and 'Motive's Kyra Zagorsky head up the ensemble cast. '30 Days of Night' director David Slade helmed the pilot.
The first 15 minutes of 'Helix' is embedded below. Personally, I think it looks pretty interesting so far, but I'm not quite sure whether I'm ready to add it to my DVR series recording list quite yet. We'll all get to see where the story goes from here when 'Helix' premieres on Friday, Jan. 10 at 10/9c.
Basicaly this looks like a Si-Fi Medical Action show, not how long before the networks and/or studios try to kill it. Or will it be DOA ???

Well Caprica was hyped. How did that work out? Someone should just revive UFO and get it over with.
