They always say third time's a charm and it's a theory Jonah Hill seems more than willing to test out. NBC announced today that the actor has been tapped to host 'Saturday Night Live‘s second episode of 2014 (Jan. 25), marking the star’s third turn on the popular weekend improv show.
U.K. band Bastille will join Hill as the show's musical guest, which will serve as their official 'SNL' debut. Meanwhile, rap artist Drake will kick off SNL‘s 2014 run on Jan. 18, serving as both host and musical guest.
Hill most recently hosted the late night show back in March 2012 as a way to promote his box office hit '21 Jump Street,' which he starred in alongside Channing Tatum. Back then, his monologue consisted of mainly pretending to have a snooty new attitude in light of his Oscar nomination for 'Moneyball.' So it should be interesting to see what he comes up with now that he's also shared screen time with the ever-so-talented Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Wolf of Wall Street.'
But when it comes to this show, anything can happen. (Hey, maybe Tom Hanks will even make another surprise guest appearance! Please?) Either way, it should make for a fun evening of comedic merriment, which is something I think we all need now that the holiday season has come to a close and winter is in full swing. Bring on the funny!
