After the successful first season of 'The Queen Latifah Show,' the order is in. There will be a second season of the hit talk show.
This news does not come as a surprise, as 'The Queen Latifah Show' has consistently had the highest ratings of all the new talk shows. The Queen opened with an impressive 10 million viewers in her first week. According to the Nielsen ratings, 'The Queen Latifah Show' is now averaging 1.8 million viewers an episode. In comparison, Bethenny Frankel, of 'Bethenny' is drawing in a meager 1.1 million viewers on average.
Her ratings are partially attributed to the Season 1 all-star guest list, including Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, John Travolta, and Sharon Stone. Although, the Queen herself is also a dynamic force of enthusiasm, and charisma. Her energy has helped propel the show into success.
'The Queen Latifah Show' is produced by Queen Latifah's own production company, Flavor Unit, Overbrook Entertainment, and Sony.
John Weiser, Sony TV U.S. president of distribution, speaks, "We are proud to have the CBS stations as our partners as we continue to build 'The Queen Latifah Show' into a franchise brand. We look forward to building on the success of this year’s #1 new talk show by delivering the highest quality program to our stations, advertisers and viewers."
Look out for the upcoming guests this week, with Seth Green and Amy Smart on Jan. 7, Rhea Perlman on Jan. 8, and Josh Holloway and Gabrielle Union on Jan. 9.
