House fans will recall that the character of Dr. Allison Cameron was rather abruptly written out of the series during the sixth season. It was later revealed that actress Jennifer Morrison had received zero input regarding the decision, and had no real desire to leave the long-running medical drama.
As a result, nobody really expected her to be one of the past stars that returned for the show's series finale in May. Morrison had even said previously that she had yet to be approached by producers about making an appearance. However, the kind words she offered about her tenure in the same interview seem to have been noticed, as EW.com now reports that the current Once Upon A Time star will in fact return to play Dr. Cameron during the farewell broadcast.
Morrison joins the previously announced Kal Penn, Amber Tamblyn, and Olivia Wilde in the group of ex-cast members set to return for the 177th and final episode entitled, get this, "Everybody Dies". Hopefully that's not a clue as to the fate of one of the major characters, or even Dr. House himself. That would certainly be a depressing way for fans to finish an over eight year journey with the socially horrible, but medically brilliant physician.
House has definitely had its ups and downs over the years, but the producers seem to be going all out to make the show's goodbye a satisfying one. It's definitely going to be weird to have a fall TV landscape without Hugh Laurie in it (and an Emmy telecast without him nominated), but all good things must come to an end eventually.
Will you be watching the end of House on May 21st? Do you think a major character, or even House himself, will bite the dust before it's all said and done?
Yes, I'll def watch. It's my fav show. I was hoping she'd come back for the finale. I'm NOT expecting much of a finale. This season has been sub-par. Wilson having cancer has been a forced, anti-climactic arc. The current supporting cast hasn't helped much, though they haven't been written much to work with. I'd like a "happy" ending. The character, Dr. House, and the show deserves it. It was great most weeks. I'll miss it.
So sad to see this ending, but I suppose it's good form to always leave while on top. I'm just getting used to Jennifer Morrison's character on Once and now have to shift gears again. I will definitely watch the finale.
