Warning: If you’re still catching up on ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ some major spoilers follow.
Just in time for the seventh and final season, the FX motorcycle club hit series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ has officially promoted Drea de Matteo to a series regular, TVLine exclusively reports.
De Matteo (‘The Sopranos,’ ‘Joey,’ ‘Desperate Housewives’), who’s appeared on the series for most of its time on air, is known for portraying Wendy aka Jax’s (Charlie Hunnam) ex-flame and mother to son Abel.
As die hard ‘SOA’ fans know, Season 6 ended on a shocking note (with Tara’s, played by Maggie Siff, death) and that just might open the door for even more Wendy time. Does this mean Wendy will be more of a mother to Abel? Will she also play a part in Thomas’ life? Only time will tell.
‘Sons of Anarchy’s curtain call is set for fall 2014, but that doesn’t mean creator Kurt Sutter is shying away from the small screen. Last December, it was announced that Sutter is creating a follow-up period drama titled ‘The Bastard Executioner’ for FX.
No, it will not be anything like Sutter’s current hit, but it will have lots of violence as the series tells the story of a warrior knight, in King Edward III’s charge, who is ready to retire from war. Sutter and producer Brian Grazer are planning to work on the pilot after ‘SOA’ ends.
