Here's a bit of cheerful news for all you 'Glee' fans out there. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gwyneth Paltrow is in serious talks to reprise her Emmy-winning guest star role as substitute teacher Holly Holliday during the 'Glee's upcoming 100th episode.
And while no details have been released regarding what exactly her character will be up to plotwise (or vocally), it's never too early to start putting in song requests. Thoughts?
But wait, there's more! E! News has exclusively discovered that former 'Gossip Girl' star Chace Crawford will also be appearing on the milestone episode for the very first time. So who will he be playing?
"I think he's going to be Dianna Agron's new love interest," Matthew Morrison told the site last night at Audi's pre-Golden Globes party at Cecconi's in West Hollywood. "His name is Biff. He's kind of a Yalie degenerate."
There's no word yet if Crawford will actually sing during his special guest appearance, but hey, a girl can dream, right? *fingers crossed*
As if this wasn't enough to chew on, the FOX hit musical series mentioned yet another little piece of interesting news: The 100th episode is now expanding into a two-part event that will air on March 18 and 25. The storyline will center around Jane Lynch's principal Sue Sylvester, who after years of hating the New Directions gang and Will Schuester (Morrison), finally succeeds in putting the glee club to an end...for good.
I don't know about you, but this sounds the exact opposite of gleeful, amirite?
Apart from the guest stars, many original cast members are scheduled to return to say their final goodbyes to Will & Co. as well, including Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike), Mark Salling (Puck), recent 'Dancing With the Stars' winner Amber Riley (Mercedes), Dianna Agron (Quinn), and Kristin Chenoweth (April) — who will be singing a Pink song with Morrison.
And while the episode is said to be very moving, fans can take some comfort in knowing that this does not in any way mean that Morrison is exiting the series for good. However, the show will proceed to do several consecutive NYC-based episodes afterward, focusing mainly on Rachel (Lea Michele), Blaine (Darren Criss), Kurt (Chris Colfer), Sam (Chord Overstreet), and Mercedes (Amber Riley).
'Glee' returns to its new time slot on Tuesday nights starting Feb. 25 at 8/7c on FOX.
