FOX’s upcoming comedy, ‘Fatrick,’ has finally found its leading man, TVLine exclusively reports.
‘Guys With Kids’ star Zach Cregger has landed the role of thirtysomething Patrick in the talked about new comedy. Where does “Fatrick” come in to play? Well, Patrick used to be a formerly fat kid, who was constantly called “Fatrick” during his high school days. Throughout the show, Patrick will “face the damage” from the insensitive and hurtful name calling. Episodes will go back and forth between the present day and Patrick’s adolescent years.
The series comes from ‘Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23’s Nahnatchka Khan and Corey Nickerson, in addition to being directed by ‘Ben and Kate’s Nat Faxon and ‘Community’s Jim Rash (he also won an Oscar for penning ‘The Descendants’ script).
If that isn’t enough exciting casting news, ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Marcia Cross is also joining the comedy, as was reported last December. Cross is set to play Patrick’s mother, Arlene, during the flashbacks.
Now, Arlene, unlike young Patrick, is a nutritionist with very little patience for all kinds of unhealthy habits. So, what does this mean for her son, who is called “Fatrick”? Well, Arlene isn’t afraid to show her love for her fit daughter, nor is she afraid to let Patrick know her true feelings about his weight.
A premiere date has yet to be announced.
