'Downton Abbey' fans are in for a treat, because soon there will be a double helping of Mrs. Patmore on the telly: Entertainment Weekly reveals actress Lesley Nicol is set to appear on an episode of the FOX sitcom 'Raising Hope.'
Appearing on a comedy series only seems like a natural fit for Nicol, who is known for her cheekiness and biting tongue as the Crawley's loyal cook on the hit British drama. Though Nicol will appear in modern clothes on the show and we'll be weirded out by this (because it's always a shock to see 'Downton Abbey' stars look like they're part of this era and not actually stuck in the old timey days), she won't be straying too far from her servant status. According to the magazine, Nicol will star as Eleanor, a former maid of Nana's (Tippi Hedren), who comes back to work after major surgery.
Hmm...I wonder if it's cataract surgery. It would be pretty awesome if Nicol got to wear Patmore's groovy post-cataract surgery glasses, no?
I digress. Nicol's episode will air sometime in the spring. In the meantime, you can still watch her and the rest of the 'Downton Abbey' gang suffer with a stiff upper lip on Sundays on PBS.
'Raising Hope' airs Fridays at 9/8c on FOX.
