According to Deadline, Patrick J. Adams and Jason Isaacs have officially joined the cast of NBC’s miniseries ‘Rosemary’s Baby.’
‘Suits’ star Patrick J. Adams will play the lead opposite Zoe Saldana, while ‘Awake’ star Jason Isaacs will play the coven-leader and warlock, Roman Castevet.
‘Rosemary’s Baby’ is based on the 1968 psychological horror film written and directed by Roman Polanski. Polanski based 'Rosemary’s Baby’ on the 1967 best-selling book of the same name written by Ira Levin.
The plot focuses on Rosemary Woodhouse (Saldana) and her husband Guy (Adams), as they move into a Paris apartment that has a sinister past of murder and witchcraft. Rosemary has wanted a baby, but when faced with her pregnancy, she begins to question the true intentions of her husband and neighbors’ motives surrounding her unborn child.
This latest casting news makes for a nice NBCUniversal crossover for Adams, who plays a hot star on the USA Network. ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ will also mark Isaacs return to NBC after his short-lived series, ‘Awake.’ However, this will not be Isaacs’ first role that involves witchcraft, as he is also famous for his character, Lucius Malfoy, of the ‘Harry Potter’ movies.
Lionsgate TV and Joshua Maurer will be producing the miniseries, along with co-executive producer Saldana. The ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ team also includes director, Agnieszka Holland, with a script written by Scott Abbott ('Introducing Dorothy Dandridge') and James Wong ('American Horror Story').
The four-hour miniseries is scheduled to be filmed in Paris.
