In addition to all of the other news we’ve been reporting, here are a few entertainment and TV headlines you might have missed:
-After 21 years, Alison Sweeney is leaving ‘Days of Our Lives.' The soap star wants to focus on her family, as she told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "I have never had more than a two-week vacation in that whole time. And I'm really just excited to be with my kids and be with my husband and I don't know, have fun. And I write. My second book's coming out. I love directing and just you know finding things to do."
-For the first time, the entire cast of ‘The Walking Dead’ is appearing on a late-night talk show for a joint interview. On Thursday, Feb. 6 the cast, including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira and Melissa McBride, will pop up on ‘Conan.'
-In addition to his ‘Supernatural’ gig, Tahmoh Penikett is joining CBS’ ‘Criminal Minds’ in a key role, TVLine reports. He is set to play Michael Hastings, a man JJ worked with at the State Department, and someone she won’t be happy to see.
-John Ridley, the Oscar-nominated ‘12 Years a Slave’ writer, is expanding his resume with ABC, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. In addition to writing the script for the ABC pilot ‘American Crime,’ Ridley will also direct and executive produce the project.
-Funnyman Stephen Merchant (‘Hello Ladies’) is heading to ABC’s hit comedy ‘Modern Family,’ TV Guide reports. Merchant is set to play Stevens, “the officious Mandalay Bay hotel butler assigned to take care of the Pritchett-Dunphy clan. Stevens appears calm and confident at first, but while juggling the requests of all three families, he finds himself overwhelmed.” His episode is slated for the spring.
-The Disney Channel has officially announced the series finale date for ‘Good Luck Charlie.’ The final one-hour episode is set to air on Sunday, Feb. 16. The episode is titled “Good-Bye, Charlie.”
-FOX’s new comedy ‘Enlisted’ is getting a new timeslot. The military combat series, starring Geoff Stults, will now air at 9/8c on Fridays, following ‘Bones.’ Starting this Friday, ‘Enlisted’ will swap spots with ‘Raising Hope,’ which will now air at 9:30/8:30c.
