With the hunt for Red John out of the picture, Teresa Lisbon’s (Robin Tunney) getting lucky in love. According to TVLine, Pedro Pascal is joining ‘The Mentalist’ as Lisbon’s new man.
Pascal is taking on the role of FBI Special Agent Marcus Pike, who is described as “a charming man with integrity, a blue-collar cop with FBI smarts.” Pascal’s character won’t just show up for one episode, but is set to recur in at least five episodes, maybe more.
As TVLine previously reported, Marcus Pike reaches out for help from Lisbon and Jane (Simon Baker) in his hunt for a band of art thieves. Jane searching for art thieves? I don’t think this Pike knows what he’s in for. Apparently, Lisbon will be a good buffer, as the very special FBI agent becomes immediately attracted to her. Pike’s next mission? Sweeping Lisbon off her feet.
After everything Lisbon, Jane and the others have been through (aka the murder of Red John and the dissolution of the CBI), it’s about time she finds some happiness and romance. Let’s hope he doesn’t have an agenda, especially now that we know the former CBI employees (Jane, Lisbon, Grace, Rigsby and Cho) are being watched.
Pascal’s other TV credits include ‘Graceland,’ ‘Red Widow,’ and, most notably, ‘Game of Thrones,’ where he played Oberyn Martell.
You can catch Lisbon’s new beau in Episode 16, and ‘The Mentalist’ returns with a brand new episode in a few weeks at 10/9c on CBS.
