[WARNING: If you are not caught up on 'Scandal' and don't want the plot to be spoiled, stop reading now. Spoilers ahead!]
It's been two and a half seasons since fans were first introduced to Shonda Rhimes' fast-paced political drama known as 'Scandal,' and still we have yet to be properly introduced to two very important members of the First Family: Fitz and Mellie's two older children. (We're already familiar with cute Baby Teddy.)
But all of that is about to change and soon. TVLine exclusively reports that the ABC series is currently in the process of casting the guest-starring roles of the President's 15-year-old son Jerry, who is described as “quiet, smart and intense,” and his younger sister Karen, who comes across as “polished, self-assured and older than her years.” They are scheduled to appear in Episode 15 of the third season.
It will be interesting to witness this family dynamic, especially now considering what we know about Mellie's past with Fitz's father, Jerry Grant. Could young Jerry actually be Fitz's brother rather than son? And given the fact that Jerry is short for Fitzgerald, which man is the boy really named after?
So many questions, but maybe now we'll finally get some answers. Either way, it should make for some pretty exciting (and slightly disturbing) plot twists. This sounds like a POTUS-themed Jerry Springer episode just waiting to happen.
'Scandal' returns from its winter break on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10/9c on ABC.
