With the premiere of 'Duets' right around the corner on May 24th on ABC, the show confirms that music icon, John Legend, is going to be joining the 3 other recording artists on their search for the best singing partner that they are going to be able to take to the stage with them. Along with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke, Legend will go with them around America to find that ultimate singer for them to sing with. Not only is the winner going to be able to sing with a recording artist, they are going to become one as well. With a recoding contract with Hollywood Records, they will be able to know what it is like to be a superstar like the ones who are looking for it.
Legend says that this is going to be fun for him as he joins the others. With a stellar judging panel, 'Duets' isn't the first, nor will it be the last, singing competition that has been out there. With the competition of American Idol, X Factor, America's Got Talent and The Voice, they are going to have their hands full as they balance big things without trying to be the same. There is always room for one more. Hosting the show is Quddus, from ‘Total Request Live’. The network is hopeful that this push will get the word out that the series is starting soon. This is a one of a kind singing competition because for once, the artists are the ones who are performing as well.
With contestants to choose from, the artists are going to have to see what is going on with their voices and see if they are going to be able to match the path that they want to take this in. There are many things that are going to happen on the show that is going to show a different side of Reality TV show. Here’s to hoping that this is going to be successful and that there is going to be more of a competition. What do you think of another singing competition program? Is it too much now?
