How do you like them apples? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boston BFFs and joint Oscar-winners, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, are officially expanding their bromance into television with the news that CBS has ordered to pilot, 'More Time With Family,' a sitcom that will be executive produced by the pair.
The multi-camera comedy stars comedian Tom Papa as a husband and father, who changes his career and gives up life on the road, so he can spend more time with his family. The project is based on Papa's stand-up, as well as the experiences of Damon. The idea for the pilot originated when Papa and Damon bonded while making the films, 'The Informant,' and 'Behind the Candelabra,' together. Papa will also write and serve as executive producer.
Although this is the first foray into television for Damon and Affleck as a producing team under their Pearl Street Films production company, Affleck has another pilot on the go this season with FOX picking up the crime drama 'The Middle Man.' Affleck was originally scheduled to direct the pilot, but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts for his big Batman debut in the 'Man of Steel' sequel. FOX is still deciding whether they will find a new director for the project or wait for the double Oscar-winner when he's available. (I'd go for the former 'cause the dude is a major VIP right now.) In the meantime, that project has been put on hold.
