After nearly a decade, this May 13th will see the end of ABC's long-running dramedy Desperate Housewives. You might then think that a vacation would be in order for series star Teri Hatcher after so many consecutive years doing the daily grind of being on a weekly TV series. You'd be wrong though, as EW.com is reporting that the former Lois Lane has just signed on for her first post-Housewives TV gig.
Jane By Design is an ABC Family drama about a teenager who through a series of misunderstandings ends up in her dream job, working for a famous fashion designer. Jane is of course not quite ready for this, and the show follows her struggles and victories along the way. Jane also grew up without a mother, and that's where Hatcher comes in. She is set to appear in four episodes in this summer's second season of the show, and will play the long lost parent that Jane never knew. Hatcher will also direct one of the episodes she acts in. The first of the four episodes featuring Teri is set to air on June 19th.
The nearly 50-year-old Hatcher doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. And why would she? She's aging quite well. Although I'm sure being able to stay under the ABC corporate umbrella that she's already familiar with helped.
Do you watch Jane By Design? If so, do you think bringing Teri Hatcher in is a good move?
